Perth & Kinross Council

For a number of years, Perth & Kinross Council had been using a device-based two-factor authentication solution (2FA) to enable its employees to gain remote access to its central IT system.

The existing solution had a number of disadvantages, mainly that it was expensive to deploy and difficult for users to operate.

The council sought an alternative 2FA solution which was simple to use, could be integrated into its existing IT infrastructure and most importantly, deployed to a large user group. Commerce Media’s Celo was selected as it met with all of these requirements.

With some additional tailoring, Celo was integrated into Perth & Kinross Council’s IT system. The council is pleased with the simplicity and flexibility of the solution, which has been successfully deployed to support its remote working practices.

Celo has been voted a finalist in the SC Magazine Europe annual awards 2009.
